This is Command Tab, CityMac's new podcast all about Apple and what they might (possibly) be up to.

It's Episode 6! We're happy to be joined this week by Austin Carney, our coworker here at the Kirkland location of CityMac. (Not to be confused with Austin Doran from Issaquah!) We invited him on because of his extensive experience with jailbreaking iPhones - a technique for implementing tweaks and tricks into iOS that Apple doesn't include out of the box.

In this episode we go over all of Austin's tweaks, and promised to share some screenshots of his wonderful customization.

Home Screen

Here's what his home screen looks like. Customized with Winterboard with a theme called 'Vhue', and Zephyr (for the carrier logo).

Apex 2

This is Apex 2, a neat tweak to hide related apps behind various app icons. They're accessable with a swipe up or down.

Control Center

He's also fully blown out his Control Center with CCToggles and CCSliders, enabling even more control. Tap the brightness icon and it will cycle through Flashlight, Flux, Volume, and Ring Volume. In addition to the stock toggles there is also Vibration, Location Services, LTE, Tethering, Cell Data, Auto-Lock, Power down, Restart, Respring, and a shortcut to the Settings app. Very useful.

Messages Customizer

Look at that! Messages is almost unrecognizable! This is a tweak called Messages Customizer, and it allows you to change things like the apperence of the keyboard, background color, the style of the message bubbles, and adds the ability to show the contact picture in the top right corner, among many other things.

There's always more to change and customize with jailbreaking. If you want to read more check out idownloadblog.com, and reddit.com/r/jailbreak
