Apple’s cloud service, iCloud, is a great service integrated into your Apple devices. Have you ever deleted some data such as a contact? Or, do you need to recover your data because something went wrong? If the answer to either of these is "yes," the Settings option in iCloud.com is the must-go to place for you.
To get to the Settings page in iCloud, first go to www.icloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Once signed in, click the Settings icon (picture of a gear).
Understanding What's Taking Up iCloud Storage
In iCloud Settings, you can easily see what is taking up storage space with the Storage graphical breakdown. It is organized by colors based on the type of content you have stored in iCloud such as backups, documents, photos, etc. This is a great way to understand what exactly you have in iCloud and what you do not.

Restoring Information
Have you ever lost a contact? What about an important event on your calendar? Things like this happen from time to time. Luckily, there is a feature in iCloud that lets you restore that data back to your account. This is found on the bottom of the Settings page in the left column under the Advanced section.
If you need to restore, simply choose what you need to restore. For example, if you want to restore your contacts, choose the option Restore Contacts. Once you select that option, a new option will appear to select the date you want to restore your data from. It is important to note that your current contacts, or whatever type of data you are restoring, will be replaced by the data in the archive you are selecting.
Signing Out of Browsers
The Sign Out Of All Browsers option in the Advanced iCloud Settings can be a useful tool. This feature does exactly what it says, logging out of your iCloud account on all web browsers. This can be incredibly useful if you logged into your account on someone else’s computer or a public computer. You will be logged out from your current session when you press that button as well.
App Lookup
The next advanced option is for viewing which apps allow people to look you up by email. This option is located in the right column under the Advanced section of iCloud Settings. Once you click it, a new option will appear allowing you see what apps are looking you up by your email account.
These features in iCloud are very useful and have the ability to restore data and manage which apps allow people to look you up by email. Have any questions about iCloud or any of these settings? Leave us a comment below or reach out to us on Facebook!
