Microsoft recently announced the release of Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac, but you still need an Office 365 subscription to get it. Starting today, you can now buy Office 365 directly from CityMac!
What is Microsoft Office 365?
Office 365 is a year-long subscription that gives you access to Microsoft’s award-winning suite of Office applications, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote and Outlook. The membership includes access to the online versions of each application as well as a free download of the desktop applications (Office 2016 for Mac). At this time, you must have an Office 365 subscription to download Office 2016 for Mac. It’s not available for individual purchase.
Office 365 includes a few other perks too, such as 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage, 60 monthly Skype minutes for making calls worldwide and free updates and access to new versions of each application.
Personal vs. Home
There are two versions of Office 365 available at CityMac: Office 365 Personal and Office 365 Home.
Office 365 Personal
Personal is $69 for a one-year subscription. It includes a license to download Office applications on one computer (your Mac), one tablet (iPad) and one phone (iPhone). It also includes 1TB of OneDrive storage and 60 monthly Skype minutes.
Office 365 Home
Home is $99 for a one-year subscription. It includes licenses for up to five computers, five tablets and five phones. It includes access to five individual OneDrive accounts with 1TB storage each, and 5 Skype accounts with 60 monthly Skype minutes each.

Online Version
Microsoft has built an online version of each Office application, which is included with your Office 365 membership. Just head to http://office365.com from any computer and log in to access the online applications. If you save your documents in OneDrive, you can easily access them from anywhere and edit them online.
OneDrive
Each Office 365 subscription includes 1TB (1000GB) of OneDrive cloud storage, so there’s room for all your documents, photos, movies, music and whatever else you need to store. For comparison, a 1TB plan with Dropbox is $9.99/month, or $99/year for a single user.
Starting at just $69, Office 365 is a great deal for all that it includes. As previously mentioned, it’s the only way to get Office 2016 for Mac. Stop by any CityMac location and get your subscription today!
