How to Right-Click on a Mac
Posted February 6th, 2015 by Jason Lazzuri in Tech Tips
One of the big differences between a PC and a Mac is that - out of the box - the Mac does not have an obvious right-click ability. When looking at a trackpad, there is only one physical button, not two separate buttons like many PC’s. The good news is that Macs can be changed to be able to right click, just like a PC.
Changing the Right-Click Settings on a Mac
- Click on the Apple logo in the upper-left corner and open System Preferences.
- Click on the Trackpad settings.
- Next, click on the setting “Secondary click” and make sure the the box is checked.
- Lastly, click on the down arrow to select your preferred method of right clicking.
- You can either select: 1. Click in the bottom right corner 2. Click the bottom left corner, or 3. Clicking using two fingers.
I prefer the option to click in the bottom-right corner of the trackpad as it most resembles an actual right-click. Stay tuned for more fun features and tech tips from CityMac!
